Angie SmithI’m Angie Smith, the Director of Adult & Family Ministry.

I am married to Mark, Dir. of Operations for a Burger King Franchisee. I am blessed with a step-daughter, Julie, who is a fifth grade teacher in Sioux Falls.

Since starting this new position in November, 2006, I have been asked several questions:  "What’s been the best part or what have you enjoyed the most so far?”  That answer is easy – “Putting my education to work and using different gifts that God has given me, along with getting to spend time with children and youth.”  Of course the next question posed is, “What has been the most challenging?”  That answer comes easily as well, “Trying not to do too much right away so that I do not become overwhelmed”  Keeping up with what needs to be done and moving toward what can be done – and some of both at the same time.  Both the “necessary” events in the life of the church and a handful of people have helped me remain on task and yet look to what can be done.

 As I was preparing to be interviewed for this position, I prayerfully thought about God’s direction for this ministry – what God’s vision is.

 Treasuring and tweaking what exists and creating new activities based on God’s vision for adult and family ministry – those are my goals for 2007 and beyond.
