Family Ministry
Mission Statement
The mission of the Family Ministry Team is to care for the lives and faith of children, youth and adults by connecting, supporting and equipping the family to pass on the Christian faith.
Vision Statement
The vision of the Family Ministry Team is to be a meaningful and active partner with families by communicating and supporting faith formation at home.
Objectives and Goals
The goal of the Family Ministry Team is to help educate the multi-generational family of Christ through the use of Milestone Ministry and teaching the Four Keys of Faith Formation. This is the essence of Family Ministry.
Connections
The Family Ministry Team participates in several activities through the milestones of a child's life to connect families to each other and to the church. Those include:
- Baptism
- Prayer
- 3rd Grade Bibles
- First Communion
- Non-traditional First Communion
- Unlocking the Mystery
- Car Key Blessing
- Confirmation
- Graduation
- Life's Journey
The Family Ministry Team, through these programs, strives to help parents fulfill their Baptismal promise and help the congregation act and feel like a family.
2008 Events
- Jan. 13 Non-traditional First Communion at 2-6 pm for kids grades 2 and up
- Jan. 26 Life's Journey Pre-Marital Class at 8:30 am until noon for couples getting married in 2008 at Holy Cross
- Jan. 27 Beyond Baptism Class at 11:00 am for parents/grandparetns/sponsors of children who are baptized at Holy Cross
- Feb. 10 First Communion (1st Event) Pottery and Grapes at 4:30 - 6:00 pm for 1st Graders
- Feb. 23 Life's Journey Pre-Marital Class at 8:30 am until noon for couples getting married in 2008 at Holy Cross
- Feb. 24 First Communion (2nd Event) Bread Making at 4:30 - 6:00 pm for 1st Graders
- March 16 First Communion (3rd Event) Seder Meal at 2:00 pm (A-L) and at 4:30 pm (M-Z) for 1st Graders
- March 20 First graders who went through the training receive their first communion on Maundy Thursday.
- April 12 Car Key Blessing for 8th-10th graders and their parents to learn about the responsibilities that come with this milestone.
- April 27 Beyond Baptism Class at 11:00 am for parents/grandparents/sponsors for children who are baptized at Holy Cross
- May 3 Senior Banquet at 4:30 pm followed by worship at 6:00 pm for graduating Seniors.
