"I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" (Matthew 25:35-36,40)
This verse from Matthew is the leading force for the Outreach & Mission Team of Holy Cross. We provide a wide variety of mission projects and activities each month in service to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Projects range from local efforts such as serving food at the Banquet and the Food to You Pantry, providing school supplies to neighborhood schools, and lifting up prayers for Church on the Street to international projects like providing Christmas gifts and hope to children through Operation Christmas Child, ELCA Good Gifts, and assembling food kits for Kids Against Hunger.
Through our mission projects we are not only providing much needed services to God's children, we are also developing relationships and building a stronger faith community here at Holy Cross.
Please check our bulletin board by the Fellowship Hall for a schedule of all Mission & Outreach activities and updates.
