About Our Worship
Worship is always about God for us. Often times we get it backward and
make it us for God, but God gave us the gift of Sabbath (worship), the
Hebrew word for rest, a time in which we can set aside our relentless
schedules and seek something greater—God.
We worship each week on Sundays at 8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., and 10:30 a.m.,
and each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Weekly worship helps to renew, refocus,
and re-purpose us once again so that we can live the lives that God created
us to live. We come here to find rest in the Lord that we might be sent out
to be a blessing to the world in Christ’s name.
Our worship style varies from a traditional setting filled with singing the ancient rites of the church (Sunday 8:00 a.m.) to a Contemporary Praise setting with today’s pop Christian music and video screens (all other services). Much like our worship style, our community celebrates diversity. Come as you are; wear what is comfortable to you. God made us in all shapes and sizes.
We regularly celebrate the gift of Holy Communion, Christ’s body and blood, given and shed for you. All who are baptized in the Christian faith are invited to participate regardless of one’s denominational background. It is Christ’s table; his gift for you.
Singing is encouraged whether you are the most gifted musician or not. Your voice is pleasing in God’s sight. In addition, your prayers are welcome. For prayer concerns please fill out a prayer request form in the pews. Our worship team is not a performance team, but seeks to encourage the entire congregation to lift their voices to God in praise and to focus all of our attention on worshiping his holy name. Whether a worship band, a choir, or a soloist, everyone in our worship ministry has the goal of uplifting the name of Jesus, and the spiritual encouragement of the congregation.
Children are always welcome in worship whether they cry or have squirmy legs or not. Our quiet “prayground” provides a place for active toddlers to roam. We also provide a staffed nursery to provide care for little ones. All children are welcome to come to the front during the Children’s Message and then invited to go with our teachers for Sunday/Wednesday School where they will continue learning about God during the readings and the Adult message.
We hope above all else is that our services are encounters with the living God, and that we are challenged to love and serve God more wholeheartedly as a result of meeting together!
